Greatest Generation film series presents film noir award-winner


MANCHESTER CENTER>> Manchester Community Library will screen the film noir classic about Mildred Pierce on Wednesday, May 11 at 2 p.m. in the Hunter Community Room. A mother's love leads to murder, and an Oscar, in this murder mystery told from a woman's point of view.

Joan Crawford's "Mildred" ended a two-year career slump, earning her a Best Actress Academy Award. The film was nominated for 5 other Oscars including Best Picture and features a shocking twist ending.
