Grandparents Day celebrated

MANCHESTER - On May 9, Maple Street School welcomed 80 special guests to the school's annual Grandparents Day. Head of School, Fran Bisselle, shared fun facts about the visitors. Lorrain vonBallmoos, a grandparent from South Africa, was celebrated as the farthest traveller, while grandmother Joan Schmid, a resident of Equinox Village, was the closest. Carol Boerner and David Bowen, Phillip Fitzpatrick, Diane Kelly, and Leelee Kertesz were all recognized for having three grandchildren attending Maple Street School.

Grandparents spent the afternoon with their grandchildren attending classes and participating in classroom activities. The children were excited to give their loved ones a glimpse into their school day and share with them some of the things that make Maple Street School so unique. The day concluded with an instrumental and choral concert, led by music teacher, Zachary Hampton, which featured every student.

Maple Street School is an independent day school serving children in grades Kindergarten through eighth grade.
