Goodwin's got experience

To the Editor:

I first met Tim Goodwin 25 years ago when I was running Stratton Mountain and we had some business before the Windham Regional Commission. As a member of the Commission, he asked great questions and was a great help with the complexities of land use regulation in Vermont. I'm long retired from Stratton, but I've been working closely with Tim over the years since. I strongly support his election as an Independent candidate for the Vermont House of Representatives.

In addition to the regional commission, where he continues as a member of the finance committee, Tim has served on the Flood Brook School Board, the Weston School Board and the Weston Planning Commission. Currently he is a Lister and a member of the Weston Board of Civil Authority. Tim knows the complexities of Vermont property taxes - particularly their impact on small towns like ours - and has sensible ideas on how to fix them. I've been Town Moderator in Weston for some time, and whenever a particularly thorny issue comes up at Town Meeting, Tim is the voice of common sense and wisdom that people listen to. With his long experience in civic affairs, his work as a volunteer for our communities and his background as a Certified Public Accountant, Tim is the right person to represent us in Montpelier.
