GMALL's 'Today's Headlines' to begin April 4

MANCHESTER - Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning is holding a weekly current events discussion group "Today's Headlines" moderated by Andrew McKeever.

This is an opportunity for the public to voice their opinion on national and international issues and hear what others are thinking. The moderator serves as a guide and provocateur as the public explores topics drawn from local and national newspapers as well as the Internet.

Lively discussion is the centerpiece of this course. This group is limited to 12 participants. The cost is $40 for eight weeks. It will be held on Thursdays April 4, 11, 18, 25, May 2, 9, 16, and 23 from 4-5:30 p.m. at Equinox Village.

McKeever has been the managing editor of the Manchester Journal since 2006. Prior to that, he was a reporter for the Bennington Banner and the Rutland Herald. After graduating from the University of Vermont in 1973 with a degree in political science, he lived and worked in New York City. After working in the commercial photography field for several years as a photo lab technician, he received a master's degree from Columbia University's Teacher College and went on to teach history at Poly Prep in Brooklyn.
