GMALL to offer Steinbeck lecture

MANCHESTER - Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning will be holding a lecture and theatre offering on John Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men" on Wednesday, April 30, from 4-5:30 p.m. at Equinox Village in Manchester Center.

This story, set in California, concerns the lives of two migrant farm workers and their friendship, dreams and tragic loss.

Dr. James Kraft will explore the themes and imagery of the story as well as how Steinbeck's life influenced his writing. The cost is $20 at the door; $15 if paid in advance. This lecture precedes the theatre performance of the play at Hubbard Hall in Cambridge, N.Y. on Sunday, May 4 at 2 p.m. followed by a talk-back with the cast. Green Mountain Academy is offering reduced price tickets for $10.
