GMALL to host Literary Ball
Appropriate for an educational organization, the theme is literary. Tables will be decked out with different books in mind, from the classics to contemporary. While it is not required, guests may come dressed as a favorite author or character for literature, if they so choose.
The event will begin with cocktails and a dinner catered by Hub Poelmann, a live auction with Eric Nathan, and dancing to music provided by the High Definition Band from Saratoga, N.Y.
The auction will feature items such as a week for five in a mews house in London's Belgravia district, a New York trip for four with two nights at the New York Athletic Club, tickets to the Tony Awards 2015 and dinner at the North End Grill and a two night stay for four at the newly restored Hill Farm Inn in Sunderland, among others.
Tickets for the event are selling fast at $150 per person, with $100 of the price being a tax-deductible contribution. Tickets may be purchased online at greenmtnacademy.org or by calling Executive Director Gloria Palmer at (802) 867-0111.
The event committee is comprised of Judy Livingston and Elena Atwill, co-chairs, Fran Bisselle, Catherine Boothby, Sarah Hadden, Georgine Holman, Julane Irvin-Ware, Cathy Long, Tina Long, Kaye Manly, Judi McCormick, Judie Robbins, Fran Sirak, Gail Williams and Palmer.
