Gathering the Grandmothers
The first Gathering of Grandmothers will be held on Sunday, Nov. 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 108 School Street, Bennington.
One does not have to have grandchildren to attend. It is an ongoing group and forum in which women of a 'grandmotherly age' can speak their wisdom, strengthen their voice and connect with a deeper sense of themselves and the role that women can have in our society.
Groups will be forming starting in Southern Vermont and beyond into the Four Directions.
Long ago the dreams and visions of the Grandmothers became counsel for the entire tribe. Gathering the Grandmothers is an attempt to reclaim this power so that women will stand taller and know that they are part of something large and important.
The suggested donation is $15-20. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Facilitated by Teresa King who has been gathering women and facilitating workshops for 16 years. Contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org or (518) 692-7806 with any questions.
