Funukah with Havurah Keruv
MANCHESTER >> Havurah Keruv is celebrating Hanukah a little differently this year, calling it "Funukah" and the public is invited for the festivities Friday, Dec. 18.
The Shabbat service and Festival fun will be at a new location this month – the First Congregational Church of Manchester across from Equinox Resort. A big "thank you" to the kind folks at the Church for helping out
The festival is being extended because those who are away at college or left the nest won't be home for the real holiday, so they decided to push the celebration back a little bit.
Parents with little ones should plan to arrive at 5:45 p.m. Kids will be fed before services with healthy sides and everyone's favorite Funukah entrée Pizza! The rest will get to enjoy a potluck community dinner featuring salmon, latkes and a variety of other great food starting at 7:30 p.m. Bring a favorite non-meat dish to share if possible. Ice cream and Funukah gelt for the kids will be available.
Plan to arrive by 6:30 p.m. for lighting of the Menorah, singing of Hanukah songs, and a special appearance by an Adam Sandler tribute band (put on your yarmulke, it's time for Hanukah!). We will also be treated to a short Hanukah story that will be acted out by unsuspecting children and teens. The service will be full of songs that to be sung together as well as serenaded by the Shalom Rav Singers.
