Fun time at the carnival

To the Editor:
Arlington, Vermont may not be a big town next to other southern Vermont towns. Nonetheless, when it comes to putting on a show, few towns could match the spectacular summer carnival put on this past weekend by the Arlington Fire Department.

The rides, the games of chance, the food, music, the antique fire truck and hay wagon rides and the chili cook off were done so well and enjoyed by so many. However, what was really breathtaking was the Saturday night fireworks show. The quality and quantity of the displays were indeed special and enjoyed by the large turnout of Arlington and neighboring town residents. The Arlington Rec Park had never been as beautifully illuminated as it was that night.

The Arlington Fire Department's personnel along with its Auxiliary are comprised of volunteers. The amount of time and effort that went into putting on the summer carnival was in evidence and deeply appreciated. The fire department has my thanks as well as that of the Arlington community in providing all of us with a wonderful experience.
