From Rembrandt to Van Gogh
MANCHESTER CENTER>> Carol Berry will present "From Rembrandt to Van Gogh and Beyond" as part of the Summer Wednesdays Series at Manchester Community Library on Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. in the Hunter Community Room at Manchester Community Library.
The illustrated talk will focus on artists such as Rembrandt, Delacroix, Millet and others who inspired Van Gogh and lead him to develop a personal and universal art language that ultimately resonated with 20th century artists.
An artist and a retired art educator with a Masters in Art Education, Carol Berry is the author of Vincent Van Gogh: His Spiritual Vision in Life and Art (2015). She has spent more than twenty years studying Van Gogh's paintings and getting to know him through his letters and papers and the writings of his peers.
Carol Berry has traveled throughout Europe retracing Vincent Van Gogh's life, visiting the towns and villages in The Netherlands, Belgium, and France, where Vincent lived and worked. These experiences have offered her an even richer appreciation of his life.
Summer Wednesdays is sponsored by Four Season Sotheby's International Realty.
