Food drive to benefit pantries

PAWLET - The Mettawee Community PTO will hold a food drive for the benefit of the Pawlet and Rupert Food Pantries the night of Mettawee Mania 2013 at the Mettawee Comunity School on Saturday, March 9.

For every non-perishable food item brought in (not expired) the donor will receive a free raffle ticket for entry into drawing for a Kindle Fire HD 16GB Tablet.

There is no limit to the number of items one person may donate. The Kindle Fire has been made possible through a generous donation made by Newmont Slate Co., Inc. of Granville, N.Y.

The doors will open at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 9. Folks bringing food items that wish to buy additional raffle tickets or audience members without food items, will be able to do so.

Raffle tickets are 6 for $5 or 1 for $1 and all raffle ticket proceeds will go to the Pawlet and Rupert Food Pantries.
