I am delighted to learn that Vermont is picking up steam on its renewable energy initiatives. As someone who has been following and promoting solar energy since the mid 1990s, I have been disappointed for the most part at the lethargy of the U.S. in getting this industry rolling. But Vermont is on the move.

The incentive programs are great for Vermont businesses and residents. Keep in mind that if we don't use those Federal subsidies, they will go somewhere else. The town of Brattleboro will soon have 80 percent of its electricity produced by a 500 kilowatt array of solar power. In my mind it's an uphill journey from here. And that's a beautiful thing.
