Equinox Village announces events
Equinox Village's own art instructor takes a break from his busy teaching schedule to assemble an exhibit of his work for The Gallery at Equinox Village. Attendees will enjoy watercolors of the area's favorite spots. Free and open to the public.
GetBalance Exercise Class - Tuesdays from 10 - 10:45 a.m.
GetBalance features gentle and fun seated and standing rhythmic movement to increase balance and agility. Standing movements can be done supported or from a free-standing position. GetBalance is presented by Cornerstone Fitness and created and led by Chris Uchida: a personal trainer, past professional dancer, and licensed physical therapy assistant. The cost is $15 per class for the general public, $10 per class for Cornerstone Fitness Clinic members, and free for Equinox Village residents. Tai Chi for Seniors - Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
Rich Marantz of Green Mountain Tai Chi leads interested seniors toward health and happiness using the methods and philosophies of Tai-chi chuan, Qigong and traditional Chinese external-qi healing. Caregiver Support Group - Wednesdays at 3 p.m.
Elizabeth Fredland, LICSW, and Monica Knorr, MSW, both therapists at The Spicer Center in Manchester, are offering a 6-week support group for caregivers at Equinox Village. Chair Yoga with Anna - Fridays from 3 - 3:45 p.m.
Certified Yoga instructor Anna Bushee leads this class. She completed her training at the Yoga Center of Minneapolis. Exercises in this class are done from a seated or supported standing position. Screening & Discussion: JFK (American Experience) - Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 3 p.m.
For the 50th Anniversary of his assignation, American Experience provides a fresh look at an enigmatic man who remains one of the national's most beloved and mourned leaders. Gallery Opening Event: Gloria Palmer - Thursday, Nov. 21, from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Executive Director of the Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning, Gloria Palmer, who plans many educational events at Equinox Village, will present an exhibit of her own watercolor paintings this fall. Attendees to the opening will have an opportunity to meet the artist, enjoy live music and taste hors d'oeuvres from the Equinox Village kitchen. Free and open to the public. Art Class: Creating Your Own Holiday Greeting Cards with Mixed Media - Thursdays Nov. 14 and 21 and Dec. 5 and 12 from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Learn to create fun, compelling and unique holiday greeting cards using a variety of materials: watercolor, colored pencil and collage. Participants will create beautiful holiday cards with easy methods and simple designs. Materials will be provided by the instructor for an additional fee of $10. The class fee is $50.
