Education in the 21st century talk planned

MANCHESTER >> You've heard all the buzzwords: Technology, brain science, mindfulness, mindset, grit, school reform, charter schools, vouchers, school choice, 21st century skillS. Now Green Mountain Academy of Lifelong Learning welcomes Burr and Burton Academy Headmaster Mark Tashjian to talk about education in the 21st Century.

The world of education and our knowledge of how people learn has grown exponentially since most of us were of school age, and changes continue to occur both in the classroom and at the systemic level. Tashjian will share his thoughts on what we know now that we did not know then in what we expect to be a freewheeling discussion among all participants. Come out for an evening of dialogue on what some believe is the most important issue facing today's communities: the education of the next generation of leaders.

The talk will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 2 at the Manchester Community Library from 5:30 to 7 p.m. This discussion is free and open to the public. For more information or to register, call 802-867-0111 or visit GMALL's website at
