Economic Development forum set

BENNINGTON - The Bennington County Democratic Committee's third forum of the year, "Economic Development and You," will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, June 2, at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House located at 108 School Street in Bennington.

Economic development is on everyone's mind as Vermont works to keep jobs, create new ones, and grow its economy. The forum offers discussion of current initiatives in our state and region, by key people involved.

Speakers are: Either Lucy Leriche, Assistant Secretary, or Lisa Gosselin, Commissioner, Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development, to describe its Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy; Rep. Bill Botzow (Pownal), Chair of the House Committee on Commerce and Economic Development, to speak about his committee's initiatives; Bill Colvin, Director, Sustainable Community Development Program, Bennington County Regional Commission, to discuss initiatives in Southern Vermont and Michael Harrington, Economic and Community Development Director, Town of Bennington, on economic initiatives and prospects for the Bennington area.

There will be ample time for questions and discussion. The forum welcomes everyone.
