Eagles award scholarships

Posted
MANCHESTER - The Battenkill Valley Aerie #2551, Fraternal Order of Eagles has announced their annual scholarship awards.

Each year the Eagles award two groups of scholarships to graduating students from area high schools. The selection of scholarship winners is quite difficult due to the high qualifications of all of the applicants.

This year Aerie scholarships were awarded to Olivia Warren, Emelie Severance, and Amy Siu - all of whom attend Burr and Burton Academy.

Aerie #2551 Ladies Auxiliary awarded the Betty Merrow scholarship to Warren and the Daisy Morey scholarship to Siu.

The Ladies Auxiliary awarded other scholarships to Tammy Turner from Long Trail School and Brittany Parker from Burr and Burton Academy.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles, an international non-profit organization, unites fraternally in the spirit of liberty, truth, justice, and equality to make human life more desirable by lessening its ills, and by promoting peace, prosperity, gladness and hope.
