DTF, Dorset Inn partner on Kentucky Derby

DORSET - The Dorset Inn will be holding their annual Kentucky Derby party on Saturday, May 3, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

This year The Dorset Inn is joining forces with The Dorset Theatre Festival to benefit their "Giving Back Promotions," a program which offers free tickets to community groups including farmers, firefighters, police, EMS workers, veterans and those in the military, Refuse to Use graduates, and Habitat for Humanity volunteers.

"We are very proud of this program and so happy that our partners at the Dorset Inn are throwing their support behind it," said DTF Artistic Director Dina Janis. "We do this because we believe that a theatre should give back to the community it serves and strive for diversity and inclusion in every way possible."

Those who attend can spend time with their friends, sip Mint Juleps and eat hors d'oeuvres, place bets - which will benefit DTF's community programs - and watch the race on a large screen television.

A silent auction will also be held as part of the event.

There will be a four-course Kentucky-themed dinner following the race. Post time is 6:20 p.m. Drinks and hors d'oeuvres begin at 5:30 p.m. The cost of the event is $57 per person plus tax, gratuity and alcohol. This includes hors d'oeuvres, dinner with music and a commemorative glass to take home. Half of all gaming proceeds benefit DTF's Giving Back Promotions.

Call the Dorset Inn at 802-867-5500 to make reservations, which are required to attend.
