Dr. Kurt Wagner added as emergency physician at SVMC

BENNINGTON >> Southwestern Vermont Medical Center has announced that Kurt Wagner, MD, has joined the SVMC Emergency Department.

Dr. Wagner received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago and a residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago Hospitals.

"I am delighted that Dr. Wagner has joined SVMC," said Trey Dobson, chief medical officer of SVMC and medical director of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Putnam Physicians. "With his experience and warmth, he is be a great addition to our team of emergency medicine physicians and nurses."

Wagner has worked in the Emergency Department of Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights, Ill., since 1987 and served as chairman of the department since October 2013. He is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.

"I am excited to return to a situation where I can spend the majority of my time doing patient care," Wagner said. "The staff at SVMC were so friendly, and it is clear that they provide high quality care. I look forward to joining them."
