Downtown School to Hold Open House; Introduces new teachers

MANCHESTER - The Downtown School in Manchester Center will hold two Meet-the-Teachers Open House events. The first Open House will be held on Sunday, May 11 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., and the second Open House will be held on Monday, May 12 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The Downtown School, opening this fall, is an independent, progressive education elementary school. The school has recently hired its faculty, and the upcoming Open House events will be a chance for families to talk with the teachers, ask questions, and learn about The Downtown School.

Brittany Denny will join The Downtown School as Head Teacher for Kindergarten/1st Grade, and Scott Howard will join as Head Teacher for 2nd Grade/3rd Grade. Both teachers have 12 years of teaching experience and hold a Masters Degree in Education. More information about the teachers is available at

"Come by and meet our inspiring educators," says Downtown School Founder Alexa Manning. "Brittany and Scott are so passionate about teaching and about connecting with families. I encourage parents, grandparents, and children to come to an Open House and get to know our teachers." The Open House events are family friendly. The Downtown School asks families to call 802-379-8810 to schedule a time slot in advance so that each family can have one-on-one time with the teachers.

The Downtown School is located at 106 Palmer Place in Manchester Center, just behind Ye Olde Tavern. More information is available at or by phone at 802-379-8810.
