Dorset woman dies following crash

A 26- year old Dorset resident died following her crash in Sandgate, on West Sandagate road, police said.

Melissa Harris was driving a 2012 Ford Escape west on West Sandgate road when the vehicle crossed the center line and when leaving the road, struck a telephone pole. She was taken to the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington by the Arlington Rescue Squad. She later died from a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
