Dorset seeking input on town plan

DORSET - The Dorset Town Plan is going to be revised this year and the Dorset Planning Commission is requesting input from residents.

With the evidence of Climate Change around us, the community will be asked to consider a number of changes which they have never before faced.

Working in concert with the Town and the BCRC, Dorset Citizens for Responsible Growth is sponsoring a series of public forums to discuss what steps can be taken to become a more sustainable community.

The first of this series will be a Saturday morning forum called Looking ahead Dorsets Farms and Forests, with an emphasis on visualizing the changes occurring in those two areas.

Kate McCarthy, a Program Director for Vermont Natural Resources Council, has state-wide expertise as an advisor on Smart Growth for communities and will be in Dorset to initiate and moderate the discussion. This first forum will be held on Saturday, March 23, from 10-11:30 a.m., at the Dorset Church Vestry.

The second forum, called Looking ahead Dorsets Water and Energy, will be held Saturday April 6, 10-11:30 a.m.

The public is cordially invited; admission is Free; and all residents of Dorset are urged to attend and participate in these discussions.
