Dorset man stable after car accident
DORSET >> A man injured in a car crash on last Thursday night was listed in stable condition.
Kevin J. Sprague, of Dorset, was travelling south on Dorset Hill Road when he lost control of his vehicle, according to Vermont State Police. He was taken to Albany Medical Center for possible head and internal injuries.
Sprague, 66, was listed in stable condition on Saturday afternoon, according to a hospital spokesperson.
Police said Sprague was driving south on Dorset Hill Road just after 7 p.m. on Thursday when he lost control of the vehicle, which struck a tree while sliding down the road. The impact caused the 2005 Toyota Camry to leave the roadway and strike another tree down a small embankment.
Sprague was extracted from the vehicle by the Manchester Rescue Squad and Dorset Fire Department. He was subsequently flown to Albany Medical Center for possible head and internal injuries.
The car Sprague was driving sustained substantial damage and was declared a total loss.
The crash is under investigation and criminal charges are pending, according to Vermont State Police.
