Danby man arrested on assault charge

DANBY - On Monday, September 2, around 9:30 p.m., State Police began an investigation into a reported assault that was alledged to have taken place on Cascade Road in Danby. Following a criminal investigation, State Police arrested Mark R. Ricketts Jr., 29, and charged him with Second Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault, according to a report from the state police.

Ricketts was processed at the Vermont State Police barracks in Rutland, and later transported to the Marble Valley Correctional Center where he is being held on $25,000 bail.

Ricketts appeared in Rutland Superior Court, Criminal Division on Sept. 3, where he entered a plea of innocent. He was then taken back to the correctional center on $5,000 bail.

There will be a status conference held on Sept. 30, at 3 p.m.
