Country Club helps the needy
In a new tradition at the Manchester Country Club, members meet for dinner around the holidays and raise money to help local families.
"Growing up, my mother always held a holiday party for friends and raised money for local families," said club General Manager Robert Stearns. "That's where the idea came from and I hope we can keep doing this."
The dinner was held last Friday at the club and attracted 110 people.
This morning the club Board President Russ Mills donated the proceeds of the clubs Christmas party -$1,025 - to Director Peg Gregory of United Counseling Service. The money will go to local families in need.
