College consultant earns recertification

BENNINGTON - Lora K. Block, an Independent College Planning Consultant, has recently earned recertification from the American Institute of Certified Educational Planners. Certification indicates that Block has achieved the highest standard available in the field of educational consulting. There are fewer than 300 certified Educational Consultants in the country.

Recertification is required every five years. Block has had a private college planning practice for 19 years, assisting hundreds of students and families in Vermont, Massachusetts and New York and around the country to make the most appropriate educational and financial choices for higher education.

Block was awarded her certification on the basis of her visits to, and thorough assessments of, over 300 college during the last five years, and for her 215 hours of continuing professional training on topics such as learning disabilites, financial aid, adolescent development, higher education policy, college athletic recruiting and professional ethics.
