Collaborative broomball tourney set


MANCHESTER >> Test out your broom ball skills Friday, Feb. 12, from 8-9:30 p.m ., and Saturday, Feb. 13, from 8:30-10:30 p.m. at The Collaborative's free Broomball Tournament. Teams must be made up of six players all over the age of 13, and play both days. Teams must register before Feb. 5 at Riley Rink front desk or at Wear warm, movable clothing. Sticks and helmets are provided.

For those who have never played broomball, come to Riley Rink from 8:30-10:30 p.m. Jan. 30 or 8:30-10:30 p.m. Feb. 6 to practice. Broomball is played similar to hockey, except players wear sneakers instead of skates and a modified rubber broom to hit a ball into a goal. The games will be played as non-contact.

Stick around for pizza and prizes after the championship game on Saturday night.

The Collaborative is a substance abuse prevention nonprofit promoting the development of a healthy, involved community, supporting substance free youth in a caring environment serving the Manchester and Mountain communities.
