Burglaries reported in Dorset
Footprints located in the snow indicated that the thief was likely picked up by a vehicle on Route 30 upon completing the theft. A considerable amount of time was spent inside the residence as it was completely ransacked and thoroughly searched. Items stolen include an extensive coin collection, cash and jewelry.

Police are also investigating a burglary that took place on 5016 Vermont Route 30 last Friday, Dec. 27, shortly before 5:30 p.m.
According to the Vermont State Police, sometime between Dec. 24 and Dec. 27, someone broke into and entered the residence through a rear window. Some of the items taken include coins, jewelry, silverware and other small items. While investigation was underway it was discovered that the adjacent residence at 4976 had also been broken into. Details of these incidents are still under investigation.
