To the Editor:

One may wonder why Arlington, Vt. is on a list that includes Freeport, Long Island; Glens Falls, N.Y.; North Creek, N.Y.; and Brooklyn, N.Y. Wonder no more.

The Fall Concert Tour by the Manchester Music Festival arrived on Friday for a free community concert. What a treat, especially since this included the Vermont premiere of a concerto by pianist/composer Adam Neiman. Among the 17 performers that night were six alumni/ae of their Young Artists Program, which celebrates their 40th year in 2013-2014. Needless to say the audience was appreciative, enthusiastic, and glowing by the end of the evening.

And a final note (pun intended). MMF "left behind" their Chickering piano as a gift to the community, thanks to a number of sponsors. Now they are on to Brooklyn. N.Y. How do we thank such an icon of our community? By supporting each and every one of their programs and encouraging our young people to take every advantage of their offerings.

Thank you, Ari, and all who made such an evening possible Bravo.
