Boy Scouts to host Bromley Ski Weekend

BROMLEY - On Feb. 2 and 3 Boy Scout Troop 332 of Manchester will be hosting the 38th Annual Bromley Ski Weekend. The Bromley Ski Weekend is the largest and oldest scouting event of its kind in the country. Each year, hundreds of scouts and leaders from all over New England, New York and as far away as Pennsylvania and Ohio, come to Manchester. They sleep in various church basements and school gymnasiums, procured with the help of Troop 334 of Arlington, and eat in local cafeterias. During the two day event, scouts can compete in a ski race, attend a movie and popcorn night, and earn the snow sports merit badge.

Adoniram #42 Masonic Lodge of Manchester sponsors Troop 332. The lodge members serve a breakfast both Saturday and Sunday mornings, setting up and cooking at 5 a.m. to accommodate scouts and their leaders who begin arriving at 6 a.m. Bromley Mountain has hosted the event for 38 years.
