Bird Walk set at Hildene

MANCHESTER >> On Saturday, Dec. 5, birders and wildlife enthusiasts are invited to gather at 8 a.m. at the Welcome Center to search for bird activity. While bird numbers may be low on a cold December day, this data is as important as a tally of hundreds of birds. Dress warmly and join the search.

The free monthly bird walks are conducted as a collaborative event by the Vermont Bird Place and Skywatch and Hildene. They are open to all who enjoy birds, nature and the outdoors. Binoculars are available to borrow. The results are reported to the international database, e-bird. The Christmas Bird Count will also take place on December 14, a day set aside to count birds in a 15 mile diameter circle.

Contact Randy at 802-362-2270 for more information about either of these events.
