Berkshire Bank sale still on

MANCHESTER - The sale of the old Berkshire Bank building is still a go. The historic building, formerly the home of Factory Point Bank and at one time an opera house, had a sale and purchase agreement in place for April 30, Ray E. Smith, assistant vice president of Marketing, said.

However, the purchase did not happen on April 30. When called about the matter, Smith said the date was moved to May 9, citing the finalizing of a few administrative details on the part of the buyer.
