BBA welcomes new trustee

MANCHESTER - Burr and Burton Academy has announced that Scott Swenor has been appointed as the newest member of its board of trustees. He is the chief financial officer for Manchester Capital Management, based in Manchester, and has over 20 years of accounting and finance experience. He is a CPA with a Masters degree in finance, and his expertise will add value to both the institutional resources and investment committees of the board.

Swenor is a Vermont native, having grown up in Poultney, graduating from Poultney High School and Bryant University in R.I. After receiving a Bachelors degree in accounting, he worked with the Price Waterhouse investment firm. He then attended graduate school at the University of Denver, receiving a masters of finance. He worked in Denver, Colo., in planning and analysis, strategic finance, and mergers and acquisitions, which took him to Amsterdam working for a Dutch multinational corporation. He repatriated to the Chicago, Ill. area where he was the divisional controller prior to returning home to Vermont and his current capacity as the CFO of Manchester Capital Management.

Swenor and his wife Jennifer live in Dorset and have two children, Charlotte and Nathan. He enjoys traveling with his family and playing ice hockey. He also serves on the finance committee at Riley Rink at Hunter Park in Manchester.
