BBA Headmaster to speak in Landgrove

LANDGROVE - The Landgrove Meeting House's fourth summer service will be led by Mark Tashjian, who has been Headmaster of Burr and Burton Academy (BBA), an independent high school that serves the public, since 2008.

Tashjian came to BBA from the Collegiate School in New York City where he was head of the middle school from 2002-2008. A native of Philadelphia, he received his undergraduate degree in political science and international relations from Yale University and his M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business. After more than a decade consulting with companies on global business strategies, he began a new career as a mathematics and science teach at the East Harlem School at Exodus House and then served as headmaster at the Children's Storefront in Harlem. In 2002 he received a M.Ed. in education leadership from the Klingenstein Center at Columbia University's Teachers College, and remains as chairman of the Klingenstein Advisory Committee to this day.

Headmaster Tashjian, along with his wife Erin with their three young daughters, Ella, Robin, and Phoebe, enjoy living in Vermont surrounded by nature rather than concrete canyons. He enjoys hockey, soccer and active outdoor sports and is a compelling and inspirational speaker.

Services start at the Landgrove Meeting House this coming Sunday at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome. Music will be provided by area organist Carol Wing.
