BBA falls to Hartford

RUTLAND - Hartford stung Burr and Burton Academy with an overtime winner to advance to the finals of the Rutland Holiday Tournament with a 5-4 result in boys hockey action Friday night.

Sean Paradis led the Bulldogs (1-3) with a pair of goals while Andy Ishu and Brock Pollard also scored. Zack Stewart finished with 30 saves for BBA, which wraps up the tournament in the consolation Saturday at 11:15 a.m.

Mount Abe drops BBA

FAIR HAVEN - An athletic Mount Abraham team raced out in front of Burr and Burton Academy to pick up a 49-29 win in girls basketball on Friday night.

"Our girls played hard and didn't give up ... Mount Abraham is a very athletic team," said BBA coach Terry Merrow.

Rory Halligan led BBA (1-3) with 10 points.

Otters stun Eagles

ARLINGTON - The Arlington Memorial High School girls basketball team dropped its second straight close game, 56-54, against Otter Valley on Friday night at the Eagles Nest.

Arlington (0-3) led 25-23 at halftime and nearly went up by 10 in the second half before the Otters rallied. Rayleen Sherman led the Eagles with 19 points while Julia Lacoste added 13 and Jennah Lacoste chipped in with 12 rebounds.
