Basket party will benefit fire department

WEST PAWLET - On May 18, the West Pawlet Volunteer Fire Department will be holding a basket party to benefit the department's operating needs. In order for the raffle to be successful, we must rely upon donations from our neighbors.

Any help or consideration that you would be willing to give to the fire department would be greatly appreciated. The Raffle will be held inside at the firehouse, located in the center of West Pawlet on route 153. Doors open at 11 a.m., and the drawing starts at 1 p.m. Admission tickets are $6, whereas additional tickets are $3.

The fire department will be selling lunch. Raffles include lottery trees, 50/50, etc.

The West Pawlet Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1947.

Located in rural southwestern Vermont, adjacent to the New York State border, West Pawlet is a rural village in the town of Pawlet. The firefighters in West Pawlet are entirely a volunteer organization.

Fundraising is a necessity for the department as more than half the operating budget is raised from it.

Thank you for your continued support to the volunteers of the West Pawlet Volunteer Fire Department!
