Ballet, art camps announced


MANCHESTER >> The Ballet Center at Manchester has announced that will again offer Dance Camps under the direction of Marilyn Cavallari this summer. There are still a few spaces open for the following weeks. This year the younger students will be working on the Magical Lands, making fairy houses or furniture. The full day programs offer classes in ballet technique, pointe (Int. & Adv.) and choreography during the mornings and the after noon we will work on Degas drawings and replicating his paintings.

The schedule includes: June 27- July 31 Beginner Ballet (5 & 6 year olds) Full Day; July 5- July 8 Petite Ballet (6,7 & 8 year olds) Full Day; July 11-July 15 Dance & Art (7, 8 & 9 year olds) Full Day; July 18-July 22 Beginner Ballet (5 & 6 yr olds) Full Day; Aug. 1-Aug. 5 Petite Ballet (3 & 4 yr olds) Half Day; Aug. 8-Aug. 12 Intermediate and Advanced Full Day; Aug.15-Aug. 19 Intermediate and Advanced Full Day.

Ballet and Art is taught daily to all students. Younger students will work on the Magical Lands while the older students will learn how to draw and copy Degas paintings and then paint them on canvases with acrylics.

Petite Ballet camps are half day 9-12 Noon and the Dance Camps are full day 9:30-2:30 p.m. and are held at the Southern Vermont Arts Center. Scholarships are available through the Irene M.
