Author to give children's book reading at library

MANCHESTER >> Karen Gross, author of "Lady Lucy's Quest," will be visiting the Manchester Community Library on Wednesday, May 11, at 10:30 a.m. to share her book with children ages 4 and up. She is the former president of Southern Vermont College and has served as an educational consultant in Washington, D.C. She is presently a visiting faculty member at Bennington College.

Lady Lucy's Quest is the story of a feisty young girl who wants to become a Knight in the Middle Ages. She confronts many hurdles but ultimately succeeds because she is able to solve problems in creative ways. Through her actions and words she demonstrates the power of the possible for both girls and boys.

Gross's program will be interactive and will include a craft component and possibly a quest. This is a free program, and open to the public. Children must be supervised by adult caregivers.
