Author of Lady Lucy's Quest at MCL

MANCHESTER >> Author and educator Karen Gross will return by special invitation to the Manchester Community Library on Sept. 20 at 10 a.m. to share her book, "Lady Lucy's Quest," with children ages 4 and up. Lucy is a feisty young girl who wants to become a Knight in the Middle Ages. She confronts many hurdles but ultimately succeeds through creative problem solving. Through her determination she demonstrates the power of the possible for both girls and boys.

The book's illustrations were created by two high school students, So Young Jang and Jasmine Shin. Their lively art animates Lucy's story with strong images and vivid depth, extending and enriching Lucy's challenges and adventures.

An educational consultant with Widmeyer Communictions, Gross is the former president of Southern Vermont College and has served as an educational consultant in Washington, D.C.

This free, interactive program is open to the public and school groups are welcomed. Children must be supervised by adult caregivers. Manchester Community Library, 138 Cemetery Ave./Corner of Route 7A, Manchester Center.
