Art on the Hill coming

MANCHESTER - The Southern Vermont Arts Center's most popular free family event takes place Saturday, Sept. 28 from 11 - 3 p.m. on the grounds of the center. This annual event gives families the opportunity to make art together. A wide variety of arts and crafts stations will be open to children of all ages - including self-portraits, face painting, nature sculpture, chalk murals - plus food and live music.

Take a tour of both the Yester House galleries and the Elizabeth de C. Wilson museum that day - featuring Kate Gridley's interactive exhibit, "Passing Through: Portraits of Emerging Adults" - free of charge. For more information call 362-1405, email, or visit

Gallery hours are Tuesday - Saturday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon - 5 p.m. The Southern Vermont Arts Center is located at West Road, Manchester.
