Arrest made in ATV theft

Vermont State Police in Shaftsbury have made an arrest stemming from a larceny investigation that occurred on Nov. 4, 2013. According TO THE Vermont State Police, on that date James Davis of Arlington, reported that his 2013 Honda ATV was stolen off of a job site on Red Mountain Rd in the Town of Arlington. The ATV was valued at approximately $13,000.

Davis' ATV was located and recovered on Feb. 17, 2014 off of East Road in Shaftsbury. It appeared the ATV had been abandoned there.

The Vermont State Police conducted an investigation and found that Aaron Burke had reported his ATV stolen off Ehrich Rd on Feb. 18, 2014. The description of the ATV provided to the State Police by Burke matched the description of the vehicle stolen from Davis.

Burke willingly came to the Shaftsbury Barracks on Feb. 26, 2014. After meeting with Burke, he was arrested for Grand Larceny for the theft of Davis' ATV. Burke was cited and released. He is scheduled to appear in Bennington County Criminal Division on March 24.
