Arlington names National Honor Society members

ARLINGTON - Four Arlington Memorial High School (AMHS) students were inducted into the Eagle Chapter of the National Honor Society.

Juniors Christopher Daniels, Bhumika Patel, Caitlin Saunders and Amber Welch were welcomed into the national academic achievement society during a candlelit service with music performed by AMHS Sophomore Ryan Spencer.

Established in 1921, the National Honor Society (NHS) recognizes outstanding high school students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service and character. Guests at the ceremony were welcomed by AMHS Senior and National Honor Society Chapter President Duncan Gamble who inducted the new members. After being inducted, each student read a passage explaining the importance of scholarship, leadership, service and character. Each new member received an NHS jacket to commemorate the occasion. Arlington faculty Gayna Cross, Marshall Cross and Hooper Pickering serve as NHS advisors.
