Addison appointed SHRM director

BENNINGTON - Leslie Addison, of North Bennington, has been appointed as the Workforce Readiness Director of the Vermont State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Addison is the Director of Human Resources and Corporate Compliance Officer at United Counseling Service of Bennington County.

"Leslie brings 30 years of experience to our state," said Susan C. Loynd, director of the Vermont State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management. "She will be active in an area that has great impact on the workforce and is vital to the state's economic growth."

During the course of her career, Addison gained extensive experience in workforce development as the director of employment services and Northeast Career Planning in Albany, N.Y., where she developed and managed programs for vocational rehabilitation, youth, welfare-to work, and many other areas of supported employment.

"I look forward to collaborating with local partners and SHRM members to enhance the work readiness of people living in our communities," Addison said. "It's vital that we continue to build supports and identify means to accomplish that goal."

Addison also served for four years as a president of the board for the New York State Association of People Supporting Employment First, which improves and expands integrated employment opportunities, services, and outcomes for people with disabilities.
