Act 250 permit granted for Village Country Inn demo

Posted
MANCHESTER VILLAGE - An Act 250 permit has been issued to tear down the former Village Country Inn and Barn, located at 3835, 3855 and 3869 Main Street in Manchester Village. A 78 room hotel, complete with three cottages and a restaurant will be erected in the old inn's place.

Clark French, principle partner on the project said they are moving in to the pre-demolition phase, getting the space ready to be torn down. The demolition will take place sometime by the middle of January and construction should begin on the project around April 1.

French said there are two homes on the property that are not being demolished; instead they will be completely gutted and renovated. A third cottage will be built as well.

"Our Act 250 permitting process went very smoothly," he said. "We are completely on track right now."

The hotel anticipates to be open around Memorial Day 2015.
