4th of July events planned for the Rec Park

MANCHESTER - A series of events are planned for Manchester's Fourth of July celebration this year. The schedule of events is as follows:

9 a.m. - Riley Rink will be hosting "Four on the Fourth" - a 4-mile road race. Visit www.riley rink.com or call 802-362-0150.

11 a.m. - 6 p.m. - The town swimming pool will be open and is also free and open to the public on the Fourth of July.

4 p.m. - The Moriah Caravan will perform at the pavilion near the tennis courts at the rec park. The performance is free and open to the public.

5-9 p.m. - The Manchester Lions Club will be vending food and beverages with the proceeds to be reinvested in the community.

6-8 p.m. - Forsyth's Rifles - a reenactment group based in Ogdensburg, N.Y. - will be hosting an open house at Applejack Field. The public is welcome to inspect the cannons and ask questions.

6 -9 p.m. - The Rev Tor Band will perform at Applejack Field. The performance is free and open to the public.

9:30 p.m. - Fireworks presentation at the Dana L. Thompson Memorial Park.
