2016 Town Green concert series set
MANCHESTER >> The schedule for the 2016 Town Green Concert Series, sponsored by The Bank of Bennington, has been finalized. The Tuesday night concerts run from July 12 through August 16, starting at 6 p.m. and run until about 8 p.m.
For the second year in a row The Bank of Bennington is sponsoring the Concert Series. "We are pleased to be able to support this convivial summer series again this year, which fits so well with our mission as a community-minded bank," said the bank's president, Jim Brown.
"The Town is really excited to host the Concert Series on the Factory Point Town Green," said Wayne Bell, vice chair of the Selectboard and frequent attendee. "We're very grateful that The Bank of Bennington agreed to sponsor these important community events. The concerts attract a large number of local residents and visitors to downtown Manchester."
The Town Green Concert Series starts on July 12 with Moose Crossing and ends on Aug. 16 with The Don't Leave Band. Other bands include the Julie Shea Band on July 19, So Far on July 26, John O'Rourke Legato Blues Band on Aug. 2, and The Battenkillers on Aug. 9.
2016 is an exciting year for the Town Green Concert Series. The new post and beam bandstand will be ready for the upcoming concerts, providing an even more festive atmosphere. New this year will be food concessions, including hot dogs, chips, soft drinks and more during the concerts.
The Factory Point Town Green is located in scenic downtown Manchester, Vermont on Depot Street (Rt. 11/30), just east of the intersection with Main Street (Route 7A). Attendees are reminded to bring a lawn chair or blanket. There is no smoking on the Town Green, and dogs must be leashed at all times.
