MANCHESTER >> The Manchester Tritons Swim Team is off to an undefeated (3-0) start of its 2016 season.
Led by rookie head coach, Jacquelyn Verdon, the Tritons opened their season on June 30 with dual victories in a tri-meet with Rockingham and Woodstock.
Winners of individual events in that meet included Paige Marion (500 Free, 50 Fly, 200 Free and 50 free), Will Calder (100 IM, 25 Free, 25 Fly), Nathaniel Jacobs (100 IM, 50 Free, 50 Fly, 50 Back) and Devin Deets (50 Fly, 100 Fly, 100 Free). Winners of two individual events in the meet included Aryn Iannuzzi (200 IM, 100 Back), Lydia Maier (50 Free, 200 Free), Mylee Downee (50 Fly, 100 Fly), and Sarah Asciutto (50 Fly, 100 Free).
On July 5, the Tritons hosted Rutland, notching their third team victory. Co-captain Paige Marion set the first new Tritons record of the season in the 15-17 100 butterfly, recording a time of 1:09.33, besting the previous record by 0.6 seconds set by Katie Waters (1:09.93) in 2006. Aryn Iannuzzi also broke a record in the 13-14 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:19.4, nearly two seconds faster than her sister, Claire's, record from 2014.

Triple winners of individual events included Sarah Asciutto (50 Free, 100 Back, 50 Back), Emily Asciutto (50 Fly, 100 Free, 100 Fly), Aryn Iannuzzi (200 IM, 100 Breast, 50 Breast), Mylee Downee (200 IM, 50 fly, 100 Fly), and Hilary Cyr (25 Free, 25 Back, 25 Breast). Winners of two individual events included Claire Iannuzzi (100 Breast, 50 Breast), Rowan Russell (50 Free, 100 Free), Lydia Maier (100 Breast, 200 Free), Molly Harper (25 Fly, 200 Free) and Perrin Marion (50 Back, 50 Breast).
The Tritons have four more dual meets this season, including tri-meets with Rutland-Woodstock and Bennington-Killington, followed by individual meets with Bennington and Brattleboro.
The Regional Championships are set for July 30 and the Vermont State Championships will be held on August 6-7.
SVC cross-country camp
BENNINGTON >> Southern Vermont College head cross country and track and field coach Kathleen Newton has announced that she will be holding her first summer clinic on Tuesday, August 9 at the SVC campus.
The event will run from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and is intended for children entering grades 7-12. The cost is $50 per participant with all proceeds to benefit the SVC cross country programs. In the event of rain, the clinic will be held Wednesday, August 10. The camp will begin at the Mountaineer Athletic Center.
Members of the Southern Vermont cross country teams will be on hand to guide the partakers through the day and around the College campus. Activities will include showing how to properly warm up, the teaching of correct running technique, strength exercises, injury prevention and treatment, and a stretching session. The Mountaineers will also lead the participants on trail runs around the SVC campus.

Southern Vermont football camp
MANCHESTER >> The Sparxx Athletics football camp for youth players will run from July 11 to 14 at Taylor Field on the campus of Burr and Burton Academy.
The camp, which goes each day from 5 to 8 p.m., will showcase the top college and high school football players in the area in a hands-on experience to improve the grassroots of football.
The cost to attend the camp is $100, and $125 after June 1.

Werner holding annual soccer camps
ARLINGTON >> Retired Arlington and Castleton soccer coach John Werner will again be running soccer camps locally. Werner and his experienced staff are committed to providing a quality camp experience, with the emphasis on learning and fun, at a reasonable cost.
The three camps are as follows:
The Battenkill Soccer Camp for those entering grades 1 through 8 will be held the week of July 18 from 9 a.m. until noon at Greenwich Central School in Greenwich, N.Y. This camp emphasizes the technical development of each player as well as small group tactics.
The co-director is Coach Tim Kelleher, Greenwich varsity boys coach.
The Arlington Soccer Camp for those entering grades 1 through 8 will be held the week of Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. until noon at Arlington High School.
This camp also emphasizes the technical development of each player as well as small group tactics.
The Arlington Senior Soccer Camp for those entering grades 9 through 12 will be held the week of Aug. 1 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Arlington High School.
This camp includes position specific training.
