PERU - Both the Burr and Burton Academy boys and girls Alpine ski teams took first place at the Lewie Dean Memorial held at Bromley Mountain on Friday.

The girls team took the giant slalom event by an 11 point margin over second place finisher Woodstock.

After Rutland High School's Marina Rotella and Woodstock's Holli Olson finished in first and second place, respectively, BBA packed their skiers together. Sanderson Kemp led the way for the Bulldogs taking third place for the team with a combined time of 1:17.34 - edging out teammate Sarah Alpert by the slightest of margins who finished just behind Kemp with a combined time of 1:17.36. Katie Bourque and Megan Knight finished fifth and sixth for the team, respectively, with combined times of 1:17.53 and 1:17.98.

The BBA boys team was also dominant, placing their top four scorers in the top five overall to give them a team score of 14 - eight points ahead of second place finisher Woodstock.

Ben Alexopoulos was the top scorer for the Bulldogs - coming in second with a combined time of 1:12.32. He was followed closely by Tom Morgantini who finished with a combined time of 1:13.02. Tim Swinarton took fourth overall for the Bulldogs with a combined time of 1:13.72 - edging out teammate Skyler Clark by .02.

Woodstock's Jake Kelly took first place overall.

The BBA Alpine ski team will be back in action again on Wednesday for a giant slalom event at Okemo Mountain beginning at 2 p.m.
