"We urge town residents to vote yes on Article 3", said Hunter Park's President, Chris Ams. "We've been exempt from property tax since 1998 and this has been critical to the success of our non-profit organization."
Hunter Park has operated Riley Rink for the past 15 years. During that time, the organization has granted over $230,000 of scholarships to local youth. The rink and athletic fields are the home of a variety of local youth and adult athletics, including BBA boys and girls hockey, JISP skating, soccer and lacrosse and the special needs program, Connections. More than 25,000 people use the facility annually.
