MANCHESTER - Vermont Country Store defeated Team Teal 6-4 in the women's hockey league on Monday, Jan. 14, in a back and forth game.

Teal started the scoring early in the first period when Amy Charbonneau netted a goal with an assist by Margi Putney. It became a 2-0 game when Teal's Wendy Hull scored on a nice pass from Charbonneau.

In the second period Mimi Zylinski got VCS on the scoreboard with a goal, assisted by Amy Bryan and Barb Miceli to make it 2-1. A breakaway goal by VCS's Bryan then tied the score 2-2. Putney retaliated with two amazing back to back goals for Team Teal to make it a 4-2 Teal lead.

In the last period, it was all Vermont Country Store. VCS's defensive player Barbara Price took a pass from Miceli and beat goalie Tiffany Clark to narrow the score to 4-3 Teal. Miceli then scored with the assist by Bryan.

Bryan then went on to score two more unanswered goals for her hat trick, ending the game with a 6-4 Vermont Country Store win. Women's hockey league action continues until March at Riley Rink at Hunter Park.
