MANCHESTER -- The Burr and Burton Academy boys basketball team remained unbeaten after a 58-36 victory over Springfield.

Connor Herrington led BBA (6-0) in scoring with 15 points, while Weston Muench added 12 as 10 players scored for the Bulldogs.

John Thermen led the Cosmos with 11 points.

BBA routs Tigers

FAIR HAVEN -- Nine of 11 members of the Burr and Burton Academy girls basketball team scored during the Bulldogs' 57-18 win over Middlebury on Friday night at the re-scheduled Fair Haven tournament to get back to .500.

Hannah Nicholson led BBA (3-3) for the second night in a row in scoring, tallying 16 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Deidre Walsh was the only other Bulldog in double figures with 10 points.

Claudia Mosher added nine, while Rory Halligan, who was named to the all-tournament team, chipped in with eight.

BBA plays their third game in three days on Saturday against Spaulding.

Patriots take the top spot at Viking

LONDONDERRY -- The Mount Anthony Union High School boys Nordic ski team took the top spot at Friday night's skate race at Viking Touring Center.

The Patriots' top four scorers all finished in the top 10, leading to a winning score of 23, ahead of Woodstock's 32. Brattleboro was third with 45, Rutland fourth at 61 and Burr and Burton Academy in fifth with 95.

Luke Johnas was the top MAU skier, taking third place in 16 minutes, 57 seconds. Luke Keenan fought past a broken ski to finish fifth in 17:48, while Caleb Cohen and Jeremiah Colbath were seventh and eighth respectively.

For BBA, Thomas Kittross was the top skier in 15th place with a 20:22 time and Nikolai Sands was 25th in 22:05.

On the girls side, Woodstock and MAU tied at 22 points with the Wasps taking the tiebreaker with a faster fifth skier. Rutland was third with 52 and Brattleboro and BBA were incomplete.

All four Patriots were in the top 10, behind Brattleboro's Haile Lange, who traversed the course in 17:45.

Becca Romac was best for MAU with a 19:42 in third place, while Erin Anderson was sixth in 20:26. Lauren Driscoll and Abby Malmborg were ninth and 10th.

For BBA, Helena Bigelow was 11th in 20:57, while Raili Utiger was 27th in 25:44.
